Vivian Vern Stewart

Vivian “Vern” Stewart, 90, passed away suddenly Monday, October 31, 2022 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born April 2, 1932 in Rock View, he was the son of the late Elva Stewart and Anna Browning Stewart.

Vern was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. He was a veteran of the US Army and spent more than forty-four years working in the mines. He was a longtime member of Rockcastle Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Vern was a jack of all trades, there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by first wife, Rosa Pearl Stewart, his second wife, Lora Brooks Stewart, his son, Terry Lee Thomas and all his brothers.

He is survived by his son, Eric Stewart and wife Dee of NC; one grandson; one great-grandson; his sister, Jean Norman; a host of nieces and nephews; his church family; and countless friends.
