Virginia Mae (Barrett) Cook

Virginia Mae Barrett Cook went home to Jesus on June 8, 2023 at age 90.

Virginia was born to Audley and Ollie Barrett on June 26, 1932, the second of nine children.  She was a responsible child, always assisting her Mother in the care of her brothers and sisters.  Throughout her life in southern West Virginia, Virginia devoted herself to her Lord, family, friends and church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudyard E. Cook, four brothers and one sister. 

Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters: Donna Clay and husband, Terry, Cheryl Hall and husband, Jim, Barbara Osborne and husband, Mike and Betty Marek and husband, Scott; grandchildren Cortney Hagerman and husband, Robbie and David Wood II; great grandchildren Ashton Cole Hagerman and Spencer Wood; a brother, Dennis Barrett; and two sisters, Janice Patterson and Anna Rose Ward.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Hill Place for the love and care she received while a resident there.  Another thanks to Hospice of Southern WV for the care and support they provided to the family. 

Services will be at Evans- Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville, WV on Monday, June 12th 2023 with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and funeral services immediately after.   Burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Garden in Beckley, WV.
