Thomas Lee Graybeal 84, of Wolfpen passed away on Friday August 7, 2020 at Raleigh General Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born July 19, 1936 in Hemphill in McDowell county he was the son of the late Carl and Vester Weaver Graybeal.
Tommy was a coal truck driver, and he was an owner and operator for over 50 years. He was a family man who enjoyed time with his wife, children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. If you were a friend you were a friend for life. He had a heart so big I am not sure how his body contained it. Tommy would help anyone in need, without judgement of who they were. He loved his dog Fluff and the two were inseperable. She went everywhere with him. He was a great, humble and honest man. His smile was contagious to all those around him. He enjoyed working on his John Deer lawn mower, and visiting with his friends at the Post Office. Tommy gave his heart to the Lord shortly after his wife's passing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Linda Graybeal, his three sons: Dennis, Brian, and Barry Graybeal, as well as a grandson Ernie Cline.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Cindy Whittington and her husband Joe, Two brothers Buddy Graybeal and wife Judy, and Carl Graybeal and his wife Rosa. his sisters: Margret Lambert, Elaine Harris, Tamela Bainey and husband Andy, and Sheila Graybeal and her partner Mike Kinser. his grandchildren: Misty Cook and her husband Jake, Cheyanne Graybeal, Candice Cline, Bradley Graybeal, Jesse Graybeal, Joey Whittington, Adam Graybeal, and Aiden Burgess, a special nephew Jordon Beheler and his wife Latisha.
His great grandchildren Trinity Cook, Tori Graybeal, Isaiah Graybeal, Christopher Johnson, Jordan and Kaidance Lane, Ashulnn Cook, Colt Justice, Joshua Livingston, LJ Walton, Sema Lowerly, and Brain Whittington. and his beloved furbaby, that he lovingly called "his little girl" Fluff, and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
Graveside service will be held in the Brewster Cemetery on Indian Creek, at 12:30pm on Tuesday August 11, 2020.
