Teresa Rae (Shields) Hatfield

Teresa Rae Shields-Hatfield, born June 16, 1975 in Mullens, WV, went to join her father and brother in
Heaven on June 5, 2023. Teresa was the daughter of the late Earl and Sue Shields of New Richmond,
WV. Teresa was a 1993 graduate of Pineville High School. She loved her work family at the Wyoming
County Health Deptartment where she did various differnt jobs.
Teresa's caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a
special gift of not only seeing the good in people, but bringing out the best in them, as well. We will miss
her infectious smile the most, which could light up a room and change your whole day. She was an avid
lover of the beach, enjoying family time, reading, helping others, and taking a nap. No one loved a nap
more than her and she expressed it often. The relationship she had with her mother was like no other.
They shared an unbreakable bond and she was able to be with her up until the end. Teresa was a
wonderful big sister, and always made sure she spent quality time with her siblings. Teresa was selfless
and put others first. She was fun loving, outgoing, and vivacious. She was an example to so many, and a
shining light to all who knew her. When you think of Teresa, celebrate the good memories you have of
her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. She will be missed more
than any words could express, but she will be forever in our hearts till we meet again.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Earl Ray Shields of New Richmond, her brother James
Phillips (Jamey) of New Richmond, her mother-in-law Patsy Meadows, her aunts Anita Phillips of Union,
and Christina (Cricket) Phillips of Princeton, and grandparents on both sides.

Those left to cherish Teresa’s memories are her mother, Rhonda Sue Shields of New Richmond WV, her
husband, Robbie Hatfield of Cabin Creek WV, her son, Logan Hatfield of Cabin Creek WV. Two sisters
Leah Hill of Pineville WV, Heather McCall and her husband William McCall of Allen Junction WV. Her Father-in- law and mother-in-law Ronnie and Shirley Hatfield of Marianna. Sisters
and Brothers in law Angela Phillips of New Richmond, Wendy Bone and her husband, Aaron, of
Goldsboro, NC, Ben Hatfield and his wife, Megan, of Beaver, WV, and Marshall Martin and his wife,
Savannah of New Hanover, WV. Several nieces and nephews, James Phillips (J.J.), Taylor Brogan of
Bennettsville, SC, Alexis Brogan, of Goldsboro, NC, Dalton Hill of Beckley, Lilly Hill of Pineville, WV,
Austin McCall, Hailey McCall, and Wyatt McCall of Allen Junction, WV, Katrina Hatfield and Tyler
Hatfield, Maryann, Allie, and Lacey Hatfield of Beaver, WV, Chaysin and Cody Collins of New Hanover
WV, Great nieces and nephews Barron Ford, Tommy Webb, Lillian and Gracie Underwood, and Raelynn
Hill.
