Teddy Ray Clay 83, of Saulsville went home to be with his Lord on Monday July 18, 2022 at his residence.
Born October 29, 1938 in Saulsville, he was the son of the late Ted and Naoma Irene Brown Clay.
Teddy Ray was a graduate of Glen Rogers High School, he was a talented athlete, and was given the opportunity to play for Beckley Collage, in a game against New Mexico State he scored 29 points. He was a retired coal miner, and a member of Saulsville Baptist Church. Teddy Ray enjoyed sitting on the back porch of his home, talking football and making apple butter. He was a man of faith, that loved his family, and he will be missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Margaret Clay, his brother, Eddie Clay, and his sister Jackie Hill. His great grandson Phoenix Peerman
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons: Tim Clay and his wife Angie, Dave Clay and his wife Jona, His daughter Teresa Clay, a grand daughter Rebekah Lester, and two great grand daughters: Searya Peerman, and Nicole Shade, and a host of extended family, and countless friends.
In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held Friday July 22, 2022 at 6 pm at Saulsville Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 5 pm until service time Friday at the church.
