Susan Gail Carter

Susan Gail Carter, born March 8, 1959, was recovered along with her daughter, Alex Carter, on April 22, 2024.  After 25 long and difficult years, Susan and Alex are no longer missing and are finally home. 

Susan loved life, she was a very passionate person, always upbeat, and enjoyed listening to all types of music.  Her children and her family were her joy.  Susan always looked forward to dressing up, having her nails done, and looking pretty - no matter the occasion.  Her favorite season was summer when she could go outside, soak up the sunshine, and listen to her music. 

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marlene Webb, one brother, Clifford “Sammy” Webb, and her paternal grandparents (who helped raise all of their grandchildren), Jesse and Annie Webb.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Chasity Carter.  Two sisters, Brenda Hanks and her husband Jack, and Sharon Folks.  One brother, Geary Webb and his wife Helen. And a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jennifer King and all of the other officers and investigators who helped search for Susan and locate her so she can finally be laid to rest.  They would also like to say a special thank you to Ashley at the WV Medical Examiners Office for her kindness and care during this difficult time.
