Shawn Spears Obituary

Shawn Raymond Spears 60, of Pineville went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday March 23, 2021 following a long illness. 

Born February 17, 1961 in Pineville he was the son of the late Gale Spears and Olivia Tilley Allen. 

 Shawn was a Christian, and member of Saulsville Baptist Church. He was a coal miner for 40 years, 38 of those years were spent working for US Steel at the Pinnacle Mine in Pineville. In 1996 he started his own business CMJR Inc. Shawn loved coaching Pineville Little League for a number of years and is still loved by the many players he coached. He was a die hard WVU Mountaineers fan, and  was a devoted and faithful fan of the Wyoming East Girls Basketball Team, GO LADY WARRIORS!!!! Shawn was a lifelong republican, he also ran twice for a seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates. The Joy of his life was his family, he enjoyed time spent on the Lake, and supporting his children and grandchildren in their many activities. He will be missed by all that knew him.   

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his Grandparents that raised him Hannah Mae and Virgil Spears, his maternal grandparents Paul and Eileen Tilley, his father-in-law Stewart Clay and Two brothers Brian Spears, and Darren Spears. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Margie Clay Spears. His four children Rene Davidson and her husband Ryan, Jason Spears and his wife Lydia, Marissa Bailey and her husband Matthew, and Cody Spears. His grandchildren Logan (Kaylea), Skylar and Keegan Davidson, Trenton and Taylor Bailey, Peyton and Cooper Spears. A great grandson Karson. His brother and sisters: Randy Spears, Lawanna Stewart, Leisa Lester, Libby Allison, and Connie West. His mother-in-law Martha Clay, his aunt Nancy Johnson and her husband Rolo. His sister-in-law Debbie Clay, and his brothers-in-laws: Mike Clay, Carl Clay, Roger Clay, Randy Clay and Kenny Clay. A host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends. 

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Roger and Mary Clay for the help and care they gave to Shawn.
