Ronald Acord Obituary

Ronald Shawn Acord, 44 of Davin, formerly of Matheny, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 4, 2021 at Logan General Hospital from COVID complications.

Born October 11, 1976 at Beckley to Ronald and Joetta Daniels Acord. Shawn was a 1994 graduate of Oceana High School.

On August 3, 2002, Shawn married Cathy Wingler, whom he dearly loved for more than nineteen years.

Shawn coached several Little League, basketball and softball teams in the Man area. He was employed at Coronado Coal, Lower War Eagle.

On August 18, 2021 Shawn rededicated his life to the Lord.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, William T “Bud” and Quinnie Daniels, David Earl and Jean Acord, uncle and aunt Greg and Peggy Daniels and Bonnie Acord and a cousin, Melissa Acord Graham.

In addition to his wife and parents, Shawn will be deeply missed by his children, Corey Acord and his wife Ashley of Beckley, Keona Acord and Parker Acord at home; brother Jonathan Acord and his wife Dara of Weston; sister, Melodi Blankenship and her husband John of Varney; niece Tiffani Wiley, who was like a daughter, and her husband Patrick; father and mother in law, Freddy and Francis Wingler of Mallory; brother in law, Freddie “ Bubby” Wingler and his wife Christina; sister in law Jennifer Wingler and her husband Allen Ables; Amanda Griffin and her husband Alvie and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Will Daniels, Matt Cook, Carl Webb, C.J. Blankenship, Chris Burlingame, Patrick Wiley and Tanner Griffin.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. K Marzouk, Dr. Paugh, Logan General Hospital ICU nurses and Respiratory Therapist, Stephanie Messer for the compassion shown to Shawn and his famly throughout Shawn’s care.

The family has ask that everyone please wear a mask and follow the CDC guidelines
