Richard "Rick" Lee Ramsey

Richard Lee “Rick” Ramsey departed this life on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at his home in Pineville, WV.

Born in Orlando, Florida on October 10, 1960 he was the son of the late Essie Lee Ramsey and the late Connie Sue Brooks Ramsey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Connie Ramsey, close companion, Caroline Tolliver, grandparents Marvin (Shorty) and Earcle McKinney Brooks and Lloyd and Gladys Howerton Shuck and brother, Jeff Ramsey.

Survivors include nephews Taylor (Mary) Ramsey of Martinsburg, WV, Danny (Jessica) Ramsey of Stevens City, Va, two children he raised as his own, Mary Tolliver and Hope Tolliver, Aunt, Margie Brooks Younce (Pete) of Pineville,WV, Uncle, Jimmie Ramsey of Christmas, FL, Cousin Jackie Ramsey of Princeton, WV, Cousin, Jordan (Danah) Younce of Hardwick, NJ and a host of other friends and relatives.

Rick was a Class of 1978 Pineville High School graduate and a proud graduate of the David Wilkerson Teen Challenge Program in NC and Pa. where he was taught a hands on trade in farming and agriculture on a dairy farm.

In his healthier years, he loved to spend time fishing on a WV creekbank or lake, ginsenging, camping, hunting, raising a garden, grilling out and sitting around a campfire telling tall tales.  He enjoyed attending church at House of Worship in Beckley and the friends he made there.

There will be no formal visitation or services but Rick’s ashes will be scattered in some of his favorite places at a later date.
