Richard "Dick" Bowen

Richard “Dick” Bowen, 74, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.

Born May 24, 1951, in Bradshaw, WV, he was the son of the late Dan Bowen, Sr. and Alene Roberts Bowen.

Dick served his country in the United States Navy and was proud to be a veteran.

He was a longtime, devoted member of Guyandotte Baptist Church. He loved his family deeply and took great pleasure in spoiling his grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl “Cheri” Bowen.

Dick will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jessica Traub and her husband David of Garner, NC and Jennifer Atha and her husband Zach of South Charleston, WV; his precious granddaughters, Savannah Traub and Fiona Atha; siblings, Dan Bowen, Jr. and wife Melody of Roanoke, VA, Diantha “Dee” Steele and husband David of Pipestem, WV and Sherry Phillips and husband Phillip of Princeton, WV; sister-in law and brother-in-law Evan and Becky Arkell of Huntington, WV; brother-in-law Coy Ray, Jr. of Altamonte Springs, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and church family; countless friends; and his loyal fur baby, Cali.
