Raymond Rose Obituary

Raymond Rose, 70, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2019 at his home in Pineville.

Born February 24, 1948 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late William and Edna Rose.

Raymond was a dedicated educator who held many positions throughout his career, he served as Principal at Glen Rogers, Pineville and Wyoming East High Schools, as well as a football coach for Pineville High School. He held the titles of President of the National Association of Secondary School Principals Association and President of WVSSAC. He earned the prestigious award of 2001 WV Principal of the Year. He was honored to be named to the Glen Rogers High School Hall of Fame.

His love, compassion, and respect for his students was apparent to all who knew him. He loved and respected his students and in return, his students loved and respected him.

Raymond was an avid handyman and always had a project in the works. He loved fishing, golfing and traveling the world. He loved spending time with his family, especially loved watching Alexandria dance and Connor playing baseball.

He was an Honorary Mountaineer Brigadier in the WV State Militia, a member of the Pineville Masonic Lodge and a member of Pineville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Rose; his daughter, Amanda Raye Rose and her husband, Dr. Adam Miller of Ghent; grandchildren, Alexandria and Connor Miller of Ghent; a sister, Donna Paige Dean of Kennisaw, GA; and numerous friends. 

In lieu of flowers the family ask that Donations be made to any First Community Bank Location,checks are to be made out to the "Raymond Rose Scholarship Foundation".
