Patricia Ann Paynter

Patricia Ann Paynter ,82, of Hanover, WV passed away peacefully June 9, 2021, surrounded by family following an extended illness. She was born November 30, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Pearl Kasick Friedel. Patricia Was a 1957 graduate of West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Patricia worked as a legal secretary for many years. She loved to read, shop and play games online, take care of her cats, and spoil her grandchildren. Patricia was also a huge Cleveland Indians and Browns fan!! She was a kind, loyal, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a fiercely independent spirit who would help anyone in need. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lenny Friedel, and the love of her life, husband John Paynter in 2003. She missed him badly and was looking forward to the day she could be reunited with him. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter Sandra Paynter of Brenton, sons Deron Paynter and wife Shelia of Lynco, and Tony Paynter of Rockhouse. Grandchildren Steven Paynter, Daniel Paynter and Amanda Thomas. Great grandchildren Brinlyn, SJ, and Macy. Stepson Jeff Paynter and wife Anita of Hanover. Stepdaughters Elaine Leese and husband Tom of Union City, Indiana. Kay Bean and husband John of Wayne, Michigan and Patricia Dunger and husband Mark, also living in Michigan. A host of step grandchildren as well. Patricia also leaves behind 4 spoiled cats, Lucky, Fester, Clarabelle, and Booger who also miss her terribly.
