Pastor Lonnie Paul Compton, 72, went home to be with Jesus, September 28, 2024. Lonnie was born December 3, 1951, in Pikeville Kentucky to the late Lonnie and Madgeline Hall Compton. Lonnie was active from the 70’s into the 90’s as a Little League and Girls Softball Coach. He became a class four water plant operator and was employed by Pineville Water Works, Oceana Water Works, RMS PSD, and Logan County PSD. His true love led him to Pastor Ravencliff Community Church and New Richmond Community Church. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was never ashamed to raise his hands in praise wherever he went.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Dean Compton and Roger Dale Compton, and one grandson, Caleb Tyler Blankenship.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Rhonda Brewster Compton; his daughter Paula Compton Blankenship and husband Randy of Rock View; his son James Lonnie Paul Compton and wife Christy of Pineville; his brother Larry Gene Compton and wife Pamela of Glover; a special daughter Trina Marie Compton of St.Albans; five grandchildren; Amber, Courtney, Kaylie, Hannah, Katrina; seven great grandchildren, and countless friends.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be a church service homegoing celebration held at the Christian Fellowship Worship Center.
