Obituary

Milton Wesley Smith, 83, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday September 9, 2023.

Born December 13, 1939, in Fort Valley Georgia, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Ann Dixon Smith.

Milton was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he worked as a coal miner for twenty-five years. He was a member of the UMWA and retired from US Steel Pinnacle mines. In his spare time, he loved to read.  Milton was a very kind person and had a heart for Animals. He was member of the Otsego Church of Christ, where he preached for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty years Doris Floyd Smith; his two sons, John Mark Smith and Jason Phillip Smith; his two sisters, Cheryl McDaniel and Sybil Brown; a host of church family; and countless friends.
