Maxine Lafferty

Maxine Blankenship Lafferty, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Born June 14, 1949, in Glen Rogers, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Blankenship and Inez Elswick Blankenship.

Following her retirement from the Glen Rogers Public Service District, Maxine spent many hours tending to her garden and taking care of the flowers she enjoyed growing; however, her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lafferty and twelve siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Debbie Forrest and husband Michael and Cathy Rollins and husband Randall; a grandson, she raised as her son, Curtis Blankenship and companion Selena Hodges; two grandchildren, Brittney Forrest and Dakota Forrest; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Dusty; two sisters, Pat Armstrong and Marlene Tabor; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

In respecting Maxine’s wishes, she will be cremated, and no services will be held.
