Mary Rebecca "Becky" Fulford

Mary  Rebecca "Becky"  Fulford, 76, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 13, 1949, in Mullens, WV, she was the daughter of the late William T. Davis Jr. and Ruth Wolford Davis.

Following graduation from Mullens High School in 1968, Mary enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon her return from serving her country, Mary settled in Mullens, where she raised her family and was very involved in her community. She was a member of several organizations, including Mullens Lions Club, American Legion and Beckley Moose Lodge. She also spent many hours at the Council on Aging, where she liked to catch up with all her friends.

Although she loved spending time in her community, Mary enjoyed traveling as well. She and her special travel companion (her grandson, J.R.) went on many adventures together, making precious memories along the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Fulford, Sr; her brother, William T. Davis III; and two sisters, Millicent Smith and Beth Thompson.

She will be dearly missed by her two children, Donald Eugene Gauze and wife Shawn and Karen Christine Gibson and husband James Sr; three grandchildren, James Richard Gibson Jr, Aaron Donald Gauze and Cierra Jade Gauze; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital and Hospice of Southern WV for the wonderful care and compassion that Mary received.
