Loretta Sue (Royal) Blankenship

Loretta Sue Royal Blankenship passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born May 6, 1945 in Mullens, WV, Loretta, better known as Jo, or, Mamaw Jo,  was loved by so many people.  She had a love for life and family like no other, and she never met a stranger. She was a homemaker and beautician for many years.  Throughout her years, she touched many lives, and made many friends.  She always had a smile on her face, and would always surprise you with what she might say.  She was loved dearly and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gary, her parents, Paul and Ida Royal, one brother, Frankie Royal, sister and brother in law, Pauline and James Repass, father and mother in law, Elliot and Pansy Blankenship, Brothers In law, Robert Blankenship and his wife Patricia, Ronald Blankenship, James Blankenship and wife Judith, and son in law, Christopher Hatfield.

Those left to carry on her memory include her sister, Pat Wilson, of Dayton, OH, her three children Jeff Blankenship, Joey Blankenship, and wife Pam, and Jennifer Hatfield Walker, and husband Jamie, all of Pineville, WV; grandchildren Josh and Tyler Blankenship, of Pineville, WV, Tashauna Strong, and husband Roger, of Boston, MA, Allyson McKinney, and husband Travis, of Mullens WV, Ethan Hatfield, and wife Katie, of Summerville, SC, and Jailey, Jace, and Jaiden Walker, of Pineville, WV; great grandchildren Addison and Baylee Blankenship, Kenlee Blankenship, Nolan Strong, and Jett McKinney; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her furry friend Chester, who she loved so much.
