Lewis Darrel Shrewsbury

Lewis Darrel Shrewsbury, 73, of Barkers Ridge, WV, was taken home on June 9, 2025. Lewis was born August 23, 1951, to the late Carmie Shrewsbury and Mary Bishop Shrewsbury Johnson.  In his younger days, Lewis worked for Ford Motor Company, several coal companies, and Davis Auto in Mullens for over 15 years.  He was a wonderful mechanic and carpenter.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed going to the river and fishing.  He loved his pets, including his horse- Diamond, his dog- Little Man, and his cats.  Everyone who knew him knew that every morning you could find him at the Dairy Queen.  He was a Ford enthusiast and if you didn’t drive a Ford then you didn’t have a truck according to him. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Christina Bower and her husband Jeremy, and Carrie Morgan and her husband Larry.  One son, Lewis Shrewsbury Jr.  Six grandchildren: Caleb, Dustin, Allie, Arista, Annie, and Barry.  His siblings: Carol Sue Johnson, Teresa Hall, Kimberly Hall, Patty Barns, Betty Tisdale, Ernest Shrewsbury, Harold Shrewsbury, and Denny Shrewsbury. His loving companion, Linda Carter, who was his best friend and forever partner, and a host of great grandchildren, extended family, and special friends.
