Leonard Clinton Smith

Leonard Clinton Smith 89, of Buckannon formerly of Oceana, passed away on January 25, 2024. He was born, April 1, 1934, in Backus, he was the son of the late Jasper and Eveline Pomeroy Smith.

Clinton loved attending church, spending time with his family, and always loved rooting for the Green Bay Packers.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his five brothers, Owen, Robert, Harold, Keith, and Estel.

Those left to cherish his memory, include his sisters, Lucille Pingilley, Emma Hotaling, Wanda Hoy, Carol Mathison and her husband Dan, His sister-in-law JoAnn Sumner Smith. He has several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to thank the Wyoming County Council on Aging, especially his long-term aide Deniece and to Cathy’s family next door for the years of care they gave him.

Graveside services will be Saturday February 3, 2024, at 2pm in the Harrah Cemetery in Backus WV.
