Lawrence "Dick" Richard Sizemore

Lawrence Richard “Dick” Sizemore, 82, of Herndon, WV, passed away on April 24, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 21, 1943. He was the son of Elmer Lee and Lennie Marie Sizemore of McGraws, WV. 

On December 24, 1968, Dick married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Sizemore, and she took his heart once they married and once she passed away in August of 2013. Now, they are reunited, for eternity, in Heaven. 

Dick and Joyce have two daughters, Beth Ann Sizemore and Janice Sizemore. 

Dick was a retired Master Sergeant and  Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army, where he spent 20 years in service. After completion of his service, he retired from the West Virginia State Road.

In Dick’s free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. In his younger days, he enjoyed ginsenging, riding side by sides, fishing, and hunting. 

In addition to being preceded in death by his loving wife and companion, Joyce, he was also preceded in death by his mother and father, Elmer Lee and Lennie Marie Sizemore, his brother, Dwight Sizemore, his sister, Sue Frazier, , and his brother, Clark Sizemore, and wife, Sharon, . 

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Kenny Sizemore, and his wife, Diana Sizemore, of New Port Richey, FL, his daughter, Beth Ann Sizemore, and her partner, James “Jabbers” Mills, of Bud, WV, his daughter, Janice Sizemore, of Herndon, WV, his grandson, Andrew “Andy”Sizemore, and his wife, Misty Sizemore, of Ravencliff, WV, his granddaughter, Jordan Sizemore, and her fiancé, Josh Griffith, of Herndon Heights, WV, his granddaughter, Sara Shrewsberry, and her husband, Jarrett Shrewsberry, of Stephenson, WV, his grandson, Alex Green, of Herndon, WV, his grandson, Jacob England, of Herndon, WV, his great-granddaughter, Makaylee Price-Sizemore, and her companion, Elijah Lane, of Ike’s Fork, WV, his great-granddaughter, Makiya Sizemore, of Ravencliff, WV, his great-grandson, Brody Griffith, of Stephenson, WV, his great-grandson, Brantley Sizemore, of Ravencliff, WV, his great-granddaughter, Alyse Shrewsberry, of Stephenson, WV, his great-granddaughters, Everlyee and Amelia Griffith, of Herndon Heights, WV, several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Dick never met a stranger. He was one of a kind. He will be missed, forever, by his family and friends.

The Wyoming County Honor Guard will perform Military honors.
