Larry DeWayne Cook, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 6, at CAMC Memorial in Charleston.
Born February 23, 1946, in Brenton, WV, he was the son of the late Noel Vern Cook and Edna Mae Milam Cook.
A lifelong resident of Wyoming County, he was a faithful member of the Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a huge supporter of Wyoming East. An avid hunter and fisherman, Larry was a true outdoorsman. When he wasn’t in the woods or on the water’s age, he could be found working in his garden or tending to his apple trees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger Dale Cook.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Hazel Marie Blankenship Cook; children, Pennie Sue Enderson and husband Mike and Steven Harold Cook and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Julia Enderson Crookshanks and husband Anthony, Paige Michelle Enderson Prichard and husband Justin, Steven DeWayne Cook, Matthew Harold Cook and Megan Elizabeth Cook; great-grandchildren, Liam Anthony Crookshanks, Jameson Tyler Prichard, Jonah Blake Prichard and Ava Grace Crookshanks; siblings, Katherine Emily Cook Workman and husband Glen, Roscoe Rodney Cook and wife Diane, Phyllis Irene Cook Massie and husband Charlie and Dwight David Cook; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mae Cook; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack and Louie.
