Kenneth Stewart Obituary

Kenneth "Kenny" Stewart 78, of Saulsville went to be with his Lord on Thursday June 26, 2019. 

Born April 27, 1941 in Pineville he was the son of the late William Clarence and Mattie Lovena Stewart.

Kenny was a 1960 graduate of Oceana High School, where he excelled in Basketball, under the watchful eye of Legendary Coach Paul Grear, he then was offered a scholarship to play basketball at what is now Concord University. During his years at Athens, he averaged over 14 points a game, and set rebounding records that he still holds to this day. 2nd highest rebounding percentage, and is top 5 all time in all other rebounding records. He scored 1402 points in his carrier, and is still named as one of the best players to wear the Concord uniform. Kenny worked for 30 years for Georgia Pacific, and then worked for Gilbert Lumber Company, that later became Gilbert Forest Products, where he worked until his death. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, 2 brothers Richard "Dickie" Stewart, and Jack Stewart. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 years Brenda Centers Stewart, his son Kenneth Scott Stewart, his 2 granddaughters Kendall Skylar Stewart, and Kalli Storm Stewart. His brothers and sisters Billy Stewart, Ronnie Stewart, Tom Stewart, Tim Stewart, Donni Kaye Boblett. and Diana "Dee Dee" Stewart, a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

In keeping with Kenny's wishes he will be cremated and there will be no service.
