John D Brooks

John Dwayne Brooks, 56, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born November 8, 1965 in Logan, WV, he was a son of the late Charles D. Brooks and Opal McCoy Brooks.

Those who knew John know that he never met a stranger. On weekends he could be found watching WVU sports or NASCAR. He also enjoyed traveling and cooking. By far, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family

John was a Pharmacy Technician with Rhonda’s Pharmacy for many years. He was also a Supervisor at Telespectrum for some time. He attended Sweet Divine Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Christina Brooks Bailey.

John is survived by siblings, Janet Halsey and husband Bobby of Beckley, Glen Brooks and wife Sharon of Key Rock and Regina Church and husband Kenny of Saulsville; seven nieces and nephews, Katelyn Cassady, Andrew Halsey, Justin Brooks, Katrina Blankenship, Leah Bailey, Seth Bailey and Shawn Church; great nieces and nephews, Teagan Ellis, Falon Cassady, Amelia Halsey, and Eli Blankenship; and a very special aunt and uncle, John and Wilma McCoy.
