John H Belcher

John Harold Belcher, 80, of Clear Fork, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 24, 1940 in Raleigh County, WV, he was the son of the late Harold Belcher and Olga Markus Belcher.

John was a veteran of the US Army. In 1969, after returning from serving his country, he went to work for Eastern Associated Coal and continued to work for the same company until his retirement in 2003. Following his retirement, John worked for Hatfield-McCoy Trails where he enjoyed meeting people from all over the United States.

John enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, working on small engines and shared a deep appreciation for Mustangs with his son.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Darnella Cook and his mother and father-in-law, James and Louise Newcomb.

He will greatly be missed by his loving wife, Helen Belcher; his son, and best bud, John Belcher and wife, Debbie of St. Augustine, FL; two grandchildren, Trey and Jameson Belcher; brother-in-law, Gary Newcomb and wife, Diana; sister-in-law, Theresa Daniels and husband, Danny; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: The Wyoming County Toy Fund, PO Box 295, Mullins WV  25882 or to the charity of one’s choice.
