James Edward Phillips “Jamey”
February 13th, 2022 Wyoming County’s Biggest hearted superhero, passed away at the age of 49 surrounded by his family. HIs “big heart” was so full of love, he could not hold anymore and just it gave out. Anyone that ever met him knew his powers of unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and never-ending kindness. Jamey never met a stranger, and anyone that met him, knew what a special soul they had encountered. We loved him with everything in us, and would have traded it all for another day with him.
Jamey was preceded in death by Mae and Dempsey Phillips, and Betty Phillips. Jamey was survived by his parents Sue and Earl Shields of New Richmond, his loving wife Angelia “Angie” Phillips of New Richmond, his children J.J. Phillips, Tyler Hatfield, and Katrina Hatfield. His sisters, Teresa and Husband Robbie Hatfield, Leah HIll, Heather and Will McCall, and Tina and Roger Lester. Nieces and Nephews Dalton and Lilly Hill, Austin, Hailey, and Wyatt Mccall, Logan Hatfield, and Alexis and Isaiah Lester. Aunts Sherry and Husband Rick Allen, Cricket Phillips, Anita Phillips, Candy and Husband Jerry Lane, Lana Lester, and Jackie and Husband Gary Winebrimmer. Also, his beloved fur babies and several cousins.
Jamey was Born in Mullens, WV on March 20th,1972. He was a devoted Father, Brother, and Son. Jamey drove a truck for Ken and Coy trucking for a few years, but had driven a truck for many years. He loved his job and his lifelong friends he made along the way. Jamey was the kind of man you could call and knew he would show up. He loved working on automobiles with his dad, and shedding rubber on the roads. He never cared to drop what he was doing and pick up a wrench to show you how to fix the problem. He loved loading up vehicles and taking off to the woods to see what roads he could find, or make. He never met a mudhole he didn’t cross, or a hill he didn’t climb. Jamey loved his family more than anything, and we will forever miss our rock, our protector, our Bubba, our Jamey.
