Jack Lee "Gator" Smith

Jack Lee "Gator" Smith 49 of Pineville beloved husband, father, Grandfather and son gained his angel wings November 28, 2021 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington. 

Jack, born on January 18, 1972 in Mullens. He was the son of Stephen Darrell Smith of Pineville, and the late Delilah Johnson Smith. 

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his sister Alicia "Pooh" Ellis. 

In addition to his father he is survived by his loving wife of 14 years Tara, his son, Cody Smith (Melissa) of North Carolina, daughter Belle Smith of Pineville, Four grandchildren Zoey, Kaiden, Lilly, and Bentley Smith of North Carolina, 6 nieces, 2 nephews and several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. 

Jack married the love of his life, Tara Ann McCaig on April 7, 2007. He had 31 years of service on the fire department in West Virginia and North Carolina. He was a coal miner for many years, worked on the railroad, was a truck driver, a paramedic for EMS, and sang on the Grand Ole Opry. 

Along with spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
