Ida Mae Sargent Cook 81, of Brenton went home to be with her Savior on February 9, 2021.
Born August 28, 1939 in Wyoming county, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Scarbury Sargent.
Along with her husband, Rev. Garland Cook Jr. she spent 58 years in Evangelical ministry. They were members of the United Christian Church of Cleveland Tenn. As her husband would preach, and minister, she would sing, and help anyone who had a need. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and lived the example of a Proverbs 31 wife and mother. She was so much more than just a mother to her children, she was an unwavering prayer warrior, that firmly believed in the power of prayer. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 9 brothers and sisters.
Those left to carry on her legacy of ministry, include her loving and devoted husband of 61 years Rev. Garland Cook Jr of Brenton, her 3 sons Steve Cook and his wife Donna of Sweetwater Tenn, Michael Cook of Winchester Ky, and Timothy Cook and his wife Cassandra of Spring City Tenn. 7 grandchildren: Heather, Brian, Tristan, Dakota, Matthew, Jarred, and Hunter. 7 great grandchildren: Asya, Mollie, Nathan, Travis, Nick, Jax, and Luke, and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
