Geneva Lee (Adams) Goode

Geneva L. (Adams) Goode, 92, of Pineville, passed away on January 28, 2026.

Born on July 14, 1933, Geneva was the eldest daughter of the late Troy and Virgie (Bailey) Adams of Mill Creek, WV.

Geneva led a simple life centered around her home and family. She was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, and meticulous homemaker. Her family often said that everything she did–from candy making to maintaining her home to preparing large holiday meals for her family–she did well.

She enjoyed watching soap operas, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Gaither Gospel Hour, and various cooking shows. Geneva had an insatiable sweet tooth and loved making candy. In her later years, she could often be found taking breaks from her housekeeping tasks to color in adult coloring books.

In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Joe R. Goode, and her sister, Betty Rose.

Geneva is survived by her three children: Peggy Mullins and her husband, Silas; Jerry Goode; and Teresa “Jane” Weaver and her husband, Gary, all of Pineville; and her only grandchild, Ericka Blankenship and her husband, Robert Buehner, of Louisville, KY.

She is also survived by her sister, Vonnie “Bonnie” Bishop of Glover; nephew, Chris Bishop of Crab Orchard; brother-in-law, Norman “Buddy” Rose of Cumming, GA; and niece, Lana Melton, also of Cumming, GA.

The family will receive visitors from 12-1 pm on Monday February 2, 2026 at Evans-Calfee Funeral Service in Pineville, WV. A celebration of life will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be at Palm Memorial Gardens in Matheny, WV on Wednesday February 4, 2026.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
