In Loving Memory of Gary “Boe” Miller
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
On October 17,2025, Jesus lovingly welcomed His faithful child, [Boe Miller], home to Heaven — where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and everlasting joy in the presence of the Savior he served so faithfully. Boe was born in Man, West Virginia, to Ronald and Norma Sullins Miller, and from a young age, his life reflected kindness, humility, and a deep love for the Lord. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother, and humble servant of God.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Zackary Miller, whom he longed to see again in Heaven.
Boe shared a beautiful marriage of 37 wonderful years with his loving wife, Patsy Miller. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering faith — a true reflection of Christ’s love for His church. Their marriage stood as a testimony of devotion and grace, admired by all who knew them.
He was a proud and devoted father to his daughter, Lindsay Mills (Matt), and he loved her deeply. His children loved him with all their hearts and were truly blessed to call him their dad. To them, he wasn’t just a father — he was their hero, their teacher, and their example of what a godly man should be.
He adored his two grandsons, Noah Toler and Eli Hearns, beyond measure — loving them more than life itself. Some of his happiest days were spent with them by his side, fishing poles in hand, teaching them patience, laughter, and the simple joys of God’s creation. Those treasured memories will forever remain in their hearts.
He is also survived by his best friend and brother, Ronald “Butch” Miller (Debbie); his sisters, Janice Howard (Ralph) and Tammy Whitlow (Mike); and a host of church family and friends whom he loved so dearly. Each one held a special place in his heart, and he in theirs.
Boe was an active and faithful member of Clear Fork Valley Baptist Church, where he served as a devoted deacon and taught the Adult Sunday School class every Sunday morning. His lessons were filled with wisdom, laughter, and heartfelt faith as he opened the Scriptures and shared God’s Word with passion and sincerity. Through his teaching and example, he helped many grow stronger in their walk with Christ.
He was also a retired union coal miner of thirty-two years from Harris #1 Mine, where he worked with dedication, strength, and integrity. His work ethic was unmatched, and he carried the same faith and humility underground that he did in every part of his life.
Those who knew Boe will remember his kind heart, his steady faith, and his constant reminder that “God is good — all the time.” His life was a living testimony to grace, humility, and the transforming power of faith.
His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16 (KJV):
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
This verse was the foundation of his faith and the message he shared with everyone he met — the beautiful truth of God’s eternal love and salvation through Jesus Christ.
As Jesus welcomed him home, we are reminded of the promise found in Matthew 25:21 (KJV):
“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly — rejoicing, renewed, and receiving his heavenly reward.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV)
Funeral services will be conducted by Erwin Gregory and Ken Adkins, who will honor his life and celebrate his homegoing with the Word he so deeply cherished.
Boe’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to shine through his family, his church, and all who were blessed by his presence. Though he has gone on to glory, his light will never fade, and his example will continue to guide those he loved for generations to come.
