Fred Thurman Bartley

Fred Bartley of Mullens passed away on September 27, 2021.

Fred was born on March 2, 1929, in Elkhorn City, Kentucky to the late Paul and Myra Bartley.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mae Bartley, an infant daughter Sandra Gay; Five brothers: Lawrence Bartley, Kermit Bartley Elmer Bartley, Delbert Bartley and Brownie Bartley; four sisters Bertha Lee Rowe, Ivel Ratcliff. Elsie 
Bartley, and Hazel Newsome.

Fred was a retired coal miner and he loved fox hunting, Cincinnati Reds Baseball, and Kentucky Wildcats basketball. He enjoyed many hours sitting on his front porch and talking with the neighbors. He loved telling stories to a listening ear and he never met a stranger. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Joyce Blankenship and  husband Carson and Tammy Buchanan and her husband Virgil. He is also survived by three grandchildren Terri Masters, Derrick Kyle, and Joshua Buchanan; three great grandchildren Coty Roberts and wife Katelyn, Tyler Roberts, and Chase Roberts, and one great great granddaughter McKinlee Roberts.  

He will be sadly missed by family and friends 

Services will be Private and for family only.
