Everett "Gene" Eugene Watts

Everett Eugene “Gene” Watts 44, of Pineville passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on October 14, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.  He was surrounded by family and friends. Gene was ready to join God, and reunite with his loved ones.

Born January 16, 1979 in Beckley, WV. He was the son of the late Everett H “Squeak” Watts and Drema Watts of Chapin, SC, formerly of Kopperston.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Benjamin Aldan Watts, and his companion and care giver Tara Lester.

Gene graduated from Oceana High School, after graduation he attended West Virginia University, and also served in the United States Army.  He was known to have amazing athletic abilities in sports, he was a friend to everyone. He was a caring, and giving person. Gene loved making people happy, he had a loving heart for those in need. He liked telling jokes and being a prankster, he loved sitting with his friends and sharing stories.

Gene will be missed by many.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

His friend, Pastor Landon Blankenship will officiate his service.

In our Saviors loving arms he was not afraid.
