Ersie Ellen Frost

Ersie Ellen Goode Frost, 62, went to her Heavenly home Saturday, December 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, in New Richmond.

She was born in Mullens, WV, on March 24, 1963, to Beulah Matthews Goode and the late Isaac “Layton” Goode.

Ersie was a dedicated Christian woman; she faithfully attended Sweet Home Freewill Baptist Church in Maben and spent many hours watching her favorite preachers on television.

Known for her Julia Child impressions, she could often be found in the kitchen whipping up one of her special recipes. When she wasn’t busy in the kitchen, Ersie loved to spend time outdoors. Although she enjoyed taking ATV rides, she especially enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, particularly mowing her lawn.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Frosty” Frost and a son, Isaac Vance.

Those left to cherish Ersie’s precious memory, in addition to her mother, include her stepfather, Eddie Vance; her two biological children, Candace Basham and Paul Vance; two grandchildren, Ryan Vance and Isaiah Richardson; her sisters, Sylvia Basham and husband Michael and Elizabeth Ford and Mark Webster; her brother, Jackie Goode and wife Amy; and a host of extended family and countless friends.
