Ella Kay (Toler) Rakes

Ella Kay Rakes went to be with her Lord following a long illness on Saturday, January 21,2021 at the age of 66. 

Ella is preceded in death by her father and mother, Edwin and Marian Toler of Sun Hill; her brother, Cameron Toler of Sun Hill;  her brother-in-law, Darryl Holt of Dobson North Carolina and her nephew Austin Toler of Sun Hill.

Ella is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Mike Rakes of Dobson North Carolina. Her only son, Todd Rakes and his wife Rhonda of Elkin North Carolina; a sister, Marsha Holt of Dobson North Carolina; a brother, Brendon Toler and his wife Angel of Brenton; three sisters in law, Sherry Toler of Sun Hill, Diane Ritch and husband Curtis of Charlotte, North Carolina and Debbie Brunty and husband Jeff of Charlotte North Carolina. A brother-in-law Wes Rakes and wife Pam of Clearfork; two grandsons; Dakota Rakes and his fiancé, Addison of Mount Airy North Carolina and Hunter Rakes of Elkin, North Carolina; one granddaughter; Breonna Marion and her husband Hayden of Mount Airy, North Carolina and her only great grandson, Cannon Brice Marion. Ella is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Ella will be remembered as a kind, loving, gentle, and patient wife, mother, and friend who encouraged all to pursue their goals and dreams. 

Ella was passionate about fishing and was up for a fishing trip anytime she got the chance. Ella’s family is confident she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior fishing in the river of life.
