Elijah "June" Reed Jr.

Elijah "June" Reed Jr. 72, of Princeton, formerly of Landgraff went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday August 16, 2022.

Born April 27, 1950 in Welch, he was the son of the late Elijah and Rose Lee Reed.

Elijah was educated in McDowell County, and from a young age loved and played all kinds of instruments, he also loved cooking, and playing cards. Elijah worked at Welch Emergency Hospital, Davison Super Market, and he was also a preacher. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Ada Reed, one brother Amos Ray. Five Aunts: Betty Stone, Ruth Jennings, Willa Mae Holland, Doris Kidd, and Juanita Pannell. Two Uncles: Ted Jones and Howard Jones. 

Those left to cherish his memory include: his children Maria Reed Smith, Keisha Reed Smith, and Consuela Reed. Two sisters: Emma Taylor, and Gladys Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends. 

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
