Dora Ellen (Walker) Lusk

Dora Ellen Lusk, 63, of Hanover, WV went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2024. Born April 28, 1961, to Jesse Lee Walker and Patricia Ann Harper Walker, Dora cherished the simple joys of life. She found happiness in watching birds, tending to her flower garden, and especially in cultivating her beloved roses. Her greatest joy, however, came from being surrounded by her family. Dora deeply loved being a mother and grandmother and treasured the moments when all her children and grandchildren could gather together. A devoted attendee of Hanover Missionary Baptist Church, Dora’s faith was a cornerstone of her life.

In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her husband Charles Anthony Lusk, and one son, Charles Anthony Lusk Jr. Two Brothers; Jesse Lee Walker Jr, and Kenneth Walker, and one niece, Cassandra Walls.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children: Misty Walker Godfrey and her husband David Godfrey II, Crystal Lusk and her companion Derick Laxton, Chadrick Walker and his wife Carrie, and Joseph Andrew Lusk.  Ten grandchildren: Ethan Godfrey, Jasmine Godfrey, Jaxton Godfrey, Hallie Pappas, Shaun Lusk, Jaden Lusk, Gabby Lusk, William Cody Thomas Jr., Carson Wayne Thomas, and Willow Jane Thomas.  Two Great-Grandchildren: Braylen Lusk and Jaylen Lusk.  Three sisters: Lenore Ellis, Melissa Terry, and Georgetta Baxter.  A special aunt, Minnie Rudsill. A special cousin, William Bishop, and a host of extended family and friends.  The family would also like to extend a special thank you to her home health nurse, Rita Chaffins.

David Godfrey II, Chadrick Walker, Joseph Andrew Lusk, Ethan Godfrey, Jaxton Godfrey, and Jesse Richmond will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 21 at 12:00 pm in the Oceana Evans-Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, with funeral immediately following at 1:00pm.  Dora will be laid to rest in the Lusk Settlement Cemetery in Herndon.
