David Theadore Williams, 88, of Itmann, joined his loved ones and the Lord in his heavenly home on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 16, 1935, in Brier Creek, WV to the late Glen R. Williams Sr. and Leola Williams.
David proudly served in the U S Marines, spending three and a half years in Korea and was stationed at Camp Lejune, NC for fourteen months. He retired from U S Steel after thirty-five years of employment.
He was a member of the Charity Baptist Church in Mullens, WV, where he loved talking about the Bible and became a wonderful man of God.
David was a man of many talents, including being a mechanic and an electrician. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Teresa Macomber and Julia Kay Williams Blankenship; his son, David Glen Williams; sisters, Wilda “Sammie” Lambert, Patsy Williams and Brenda “Susie” Aliff; brother, Charles “Charlie” Williams; and granddaughter, Amber Joy Macomber.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-one years, Edith Williams; a son, Michael David Macomber of Castine, ME; daughters, Lana Macomber of Castine , ME and Elaine Bailey and husband, Stanley of Indian Creek; sister, Diane Acord and husband, Steve of Pineville; brother, Glen Roy “Pud” Williams and wife, Millie of Oceana; sister-in-law, Brenda Williams of Brier Creek; daughter-in-law, Dana Williams of Indian Creek; along with a large sweet family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of extended family members including nephews, nieces, neighbors and friends special friends, Dennis Large and Lawrence and Sharon Woods.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations be made to Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
