Darrell Wayne Gillespie

Darrell Wayne Gillespie, 56, of Pierpoint, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2025.  Darrell was born September 28, 1968, to Darrell Lee Gillespie, and raised by his mom and dad- Grace and Brady Gillespie.  Darrell was a member of Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church. In his younger years, Darrell ran his own plastering business.  He later went to work for Alpha Natural Resources where he was employed until his health prevented him from working. Darrell enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his church family and his grandchildren.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father - Darrell Lee Gillespie, and one brother – Brian Gillespie.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Tina Gillespie. Two children, Kristen Justice and husband Brandon of Mullens, and Luke Gillespie, still at home.  Two granddaughters that he completely adored, Alexis and Karsyn Justice.  Three brothers: Dana and his wife Jenny, Kevin, and Cameron.  One sister, Carmen.  His best friend of forty years, Richard Massie, and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral will be Wednesday, February 12 at 1:00pm at Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church.  Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 until the time of service.  Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
