Alma Jean Sneed

Alma Jean Sneed, 73, of McGraws, passed away on Wednesday March 19, 2025.  Born January 20, 1952 in Mullens, she is the daughter of the late Alma Crockett Brown and Phyllis Jean Tilley.  Alma was a graduate of Glen Rogers High School and Concord College where she earned her degree in teaching.  She taught at Glen Rogers until it closed, then continued her career in education at Pineville Jr High School where she made an impact on the lives of countless students in Wyoming County.  She was a member of Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church in Sabine. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Delone Sneed, and one grandson, Dakota Michael Richardson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Michelle Lea Funderbunk and husband Frankie of Rock Hill, SC and Shanna Lea England and husband Eddie Dale of Alderson, WV.  One son, James Michael Sneed and wife Danielle of Naples, FL.  Five grandchildren: Makala Shree Richardson, Logan Dale Sneed, Edward Dale England, Brian Michael Sneed, and Jacob Dale England.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
