Junior Lilly Obituary

Junior A. Lilly 96, of Rockview, entered his new life on November 28, 2018. 

Born August 15, 1922 at Lilly Branch, he was the son of the late Jennings and Lillie May Lilly.

After graduating from Hinton High School, he enlisted in the US Navy (1942-1946) in the Atlantic Theatre and then in the Pacific Theatre until the end of World War II.

Mr. Lilly was a long time member of Rock Castle Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Trustee, and Choir Director.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Archie Lilly, two sisters Ethel Lusk, and Sophia Stidham; two brothers-in-law, Glennis Stidham and Eugene Lusk.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Naomi Tobia Lilly; his two daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Ron Ellison of Louisa Va; Linda and Barry Lester of Saulsville; one grandson Toby Ellison and his wife Mindy of Powhatan Va; two great-grandchildren Michaela Rose Ellison, and Clint Tobias Ellison; one brother and his wife, Arnold and Donna Lilly; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Lilly. He was also survived by several special nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Many thanks to Ginger Cook, his faithful caretaker of three years and the staff at the Bowers Hospice House of Southern West Virginia.

Services will be 12:00 pm on Saturday December 1, 2018 in the chapel of Evans-Calfee Funeral Service, Pineville with Rev. Doc Adkins, and Rev. Silas Mullens officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Graveside rights will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. 

Friends may gather with the family from 11am until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
