Helga Tilley Obituary

Our beloved Mom went to her paradise with the Lord on January 4th, 2019 after a long illness.

Born in Blankensee, Germany the daughter of the late Rudolph Pöplow & Emelia Pöplow.  She was a long-time resident of McGraws, WV. She recently moved to Lake Wylie, SC to be near her daughters and family.

She held a BA degree in Business Administration and worked as a computer key punch programmer and operator for the National Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC.  She has worked at various jobs throughout her lifetime.  She was active with the Girl Scouts, the VFW and many church and community projects in her life.  She was a lifetime learner, taking college classes to learn new things. And she was an avid reader.  She was also an incredible gardener and an amazing cook.

She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband John R. Tilley, her brother in law Franz Koziara, Parents-in-law Dorothy and Jack Tolliver, sisters-in-law Phyllis Decker, Patty Puzak.

She is survived by her daughters Monica K. Tilley and husband Dan Dowbridge of Clover, SC.  Stephanie L. Biggs and husband Jeff of Indian Trail, NC.  Grandsons, Joshua Biggs and fiancé Vanessa Garcia of Clark, NJ, Zachary Dowbridge of Clover, SC and Ethan Biggs of Indian Trail, NC.  Her sister Monika Koziara of Mutlangen, Germany.  Niece Petra Lengsfeld and Nephew Jens Koziara both of Germany. Sisters-in-Law Shelby Paine and husband Harold, Margie McKinney, Rose Hedrick, Brothers-in-Law Willie Tilley, and Matthew Tolliver and wife Mandy, along with many loved nieces and nephews. And special friends Patricia King, nephew John Brown, Ron Tolliver and Roy Blankenship.

She is remembered as a wonderful wife & Mother.  She had a strong relationship with her savior Jesus Christ.  She was a wonderful encourager to everyone and she was extremely generous.  She loved being with her family, friends, gardening, talking to people, and she loved her little dog Emmy.  She was the life of our family.
