George Cook Obituary

George Wayne “June” Cook Passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

Born September 8, 1934 in Brenton, WV, he was the son of the late Wayne Cook and Molly Virginia Miller Cook.

June enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to relax at his cabin in Upshur County and always looked forward to going to the West Virginia State Fair. He was a longtime member of Cooper Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Helen Cook, his son, Gary Cook, four sisters and three brothers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include his two daughters, Brenda Lawson of Skin Fork and Donna England and husband, Ray of Skin Fork; grandchildren, Jerry Cline, Rebecca Facemyre and husband, Derek, Dennis Moore, Michelle Raye, Savannah and Summer England and Bo England and wife, Taylor; great-grandchildren, Madison Bannister, Billy Irick and one on the way, Autumn Mae England; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
