SMSgt (Retired) James “Jamie” Edward Oliver, 78, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 19, 2024, in Rockledge FL.
He was born in Pineville, WV, on January 14, 1946, to the late Edward Oliver and June Walker Oliver.
Jamie was a 1964 graduate of Pineville High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1969 and retired after serving his country for twenty-seven years. During his military career, he earned numerous honors and recognitions and served in the Gulf War. After retiring from the military, Jamie worked at Twin Falls State Park for twenty-two years.
In his free time, he enjoyed working around the house, being outside and spending time with his family.
I addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Scott Oliver and his mother and father-in-law, Alvin and Lucy Cook.
Jamie is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Jean Oliver; three children, Jennifer Rennie, Stephanie Rennie and Brian Oliver and companion, Lori; two grandchildren, Austin Rennie and wife Taylor and Jenna Oliver; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett Rennie; Two sisters, Gail Stitt and her husband Melvin, Brenda Dress and husband Jim; a sister-in-law, Pat Green and husband John; and a host of nieces and nephews.
