James Sebert Snuffer, 93, of Glen Rogers, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 21, 1924, at Bolt, he was the son of the late Chris and Icie Wesley Snuffer.

James was a retired coal miner.  He served his country proudly in the Army during World War II. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  He loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jane “Tootsie” Snuffer; three brothers, Sidney Snuffer, Junior Snuffer and John snuffer; two sisters, Velva Tolliver and Redita Snuffer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, James “Jimmy” Snuffer and his wife Debie, of Glen Rogers; daughter, Debra “Debby” Brown and her husband Richard, of Glen Rogers; sister, Jean Overstreet of Florida; grandchildren, , Ricky Brown and his wife Angel,  James Snuffer and Alivia Snuffer; great-granddaughter, Lashaya Brown.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Evans Calfee Funeral Chapel, 614 Appalachian Highway, with the Rev. Harry Lafferty officiating. Burial will follow in the Bryson Cemetery at Maple Meadows. Friends may gather with the family from 1pm until time of service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
